Something strange has been discovered in the hills of West Virginia.
WV Collective presents BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL, the award-winning dark comedy inspired by the infamous Weekly World News story of a half-boy, half-bat creature discovered in a cave.
When three teenagers stumble upon a mysterious creature in a cave near the fictional town of Hope Falls, West Virginia, the local veterinarian’s family takes him into their home. Given the name Edgar, Bat Boy quickly learns to speak, dress, and behave like a civilized young man — and desperately tries to earn the acceptance of his new family and community.
Unfortunately, Hope Falls has other plans....

As dead cattle, small-town paranoia, religious fervor, forbidden love, and some truly spectacular family secrets begin piling up, the townspeople turn against the strange young man in their midst.
Hilarious, horrifying, heartfelt, and completely unhinged, BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL is a cult-classic rock musical about what it means to be human — and what happens when the humans are considerably more monstrous than the monster.
Inspired by tabloid horror and packed with rock-and-roll, gospel, camp, romance, blood, bats, and more than a little Appalachian absurdity, Bat Boy is unlike anything WV Collective has put on stage before.
