While the audio release takes center stage, the project will later expand to include stunning live music videos filmed in the counties where these songs originated, further connecting the music to its roots. The Project

WV Collective and Long Point String Band proudly present Lost Tunes, a unique project celebrating the rich musical heritage of Southern West Virginia. This collaboration breathes new life into forgotten Appalachian string songs from southern counties in the state. With their authentic “Neo-Traditional” style, Long Point String Band will record these timeless melodies, preserving the stories and sounds of our ancestors.

The project goes beyond the music. After recording, we’ll film live music videos in the very counties where these songs originated, capturing the spirit of the landscapes and communities that inspired them. Lost Tunes will culminate in a live album and a video release event – both to be hosted at The Raleigh Playhouse & Theatre.
